Ad Astra Stitching Company is a small, woman-owned, family-run business operating just outside of Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
We are dedicated to spreading knowledge about science, nature, and sustainability through the creative and relaxing outlet of needlepoint. Our high-quality, hand-painted designs are inspired by the world in which we live, our universe, and our place as stewards of the environment. It is important to Ad Astra that we embody the ideals that we promote in our designs; our products are sustainably sourced, recycled, and/or recyclable, our research is thorough and cited, and we love what we do! We are excited by new information, and we want all of our designs to incorporate some aspect of educational purpose. We hope that our customers feel inspired by our canvases and learn something new.

Sam (Designer and Head Researcher) is a thirty-something space nerd, with big dreams and her head in the clouds. She loves color, texture, and the thrill of discovery. When she isn’t elbow deep in paint or wrapped up in a roll of canvas, you can find her lying on the floor with her son, Jack, knitting, or dancing barefoot in the kitchen.
Dave (Shipping Manager and Associate Researcher) is a thirty-something fanatic of the color orange, a chicken wing aficionado, and the owner of the most prestigious collection of hoodies. In his spare time, he is an actual space nerd: a bonafide, card-carrying aerospace engineer.
Jack (Chief Inspiration Officer) is the reason we’re all here. Sparking creativity wherever he goes, Jack has recently mastered the arts of walking, eating noodles, and putting objects inside of various containers.
Ad Astra Stitching has the premier Quality Assurance team. When they aren’t sleeping 18 hours a day, you can find them avoiding children, sitting on any surface they can reach, and knocking over cups of water.
